Yoga is a science that shows us the way to understand the human nature and its aim is the achievement of pure consciousness, peace and bliss within us. Yoga reveals the hidden laws that govern the mind and gives us the means to deal with emotions such as anger, remorse, guilt, envy, fear.
When these emotions govern our vital energy gets exhausted, our body and mind get out of balance. Through techniques of yoga - physical and breathing exercises, meditation and relaxation, and through the application of this knowledge in everyday life we recharge our body and mind, we gain valuable time for ourselves, our work, family and society. Yoga teaches us how to keep the balance when we are joyful and happy, and how to get through stressful situations while keeping in control. Or simply put - through yoga we take care of our body and mind while we connect to our spirit (the higher source), which gives us energy and harmonises our lives, making us happier, calmer and more successful.
Practicing Yoga brings the mind in the present, releases stress, balances emotions and has beneficial effects on the digestive, excretory, circulatory, nervous and all other systems in the body.
The knowledge of yoga has its origins in ancient texts that date back at least 5000 years. Ancient Indian sages, in search of the essence of life, reach a higher level of consciousness and reveal the secrets of healthy, happy and harmonious existence. Sages called that secret and sacred knowledge “yoga" ( which literally means “yolk” or to connect ) and passed it down from teacher to student without popularising it. Yoga was available only to the Indian gods, as the sacred nectar "ambrosia" was a privilege only for the gods of Olympus. Modern man owes his knowledge of yoga to the ancient Indian sage Patanjali who lived in the 2nd and 1st century BC. Patanjali collected the oral knowledge and the practices of yoga in his famous book Yoga Sutras (Knowledge of yoga).
Practicing yoga brings the body in synergy with the mind and spirit, thus creating the perfect balance for optimal life.
